Cash for peerages scandal: ask the Met Police to investigate

The Government appears to be selling positions in the heart of our democracy. Since 2010, twenty-two of the Conservative Party’s biggest donors have been made Lords - with an estimated combined contribution of £54 million.

Members of the House of Lords get a say on laws that affect all of our lives. Why should someone get a vote on laws affecting the NHS or Universal Credit because they handed £3 million to the Conservative Party?

Handing out peerages for cash is a criminal offence. But so far, the Metropolitan Police has refused to investigate. We think they need to look at the evidence urgently.
